India v England 2011: Bowling was key to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RS-Bopara-c2373 – Cricket News Update
England’s middle-order batsman, Ravi Bopara, has cited England’s triumph in the first two Tests against India as a result of incisive bowling by the Englishmen.
"We have performed very well and made it difficult for India to get going. We have bowled very well; bowled with great plans and moved the ball in the air which is difficult for all Indian batsmen," said Bopara.
With http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JM-Anderson-c1705 and Chris Tremlett, the English fast bowling attack is considered as the best in seaming conditions. Currently, Broad is leading the party with 15 scalps in four innings, while Anderson is just three wickets
behind.
After playing a key role in team’s success at Lord’s by dismissing four batsmen, Tremlett failed to prove his fitness for the second Test. Yet, his replacement, Bresnan, did not make anyone feel that he was playing five-day game after a long gap. He grabbed
seven wickets in the game including a five wicket-haul in the second innings. The strong Indian batting line-up failed to cross the 300 mark even once, since http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Dravid-c2229 was the only player to reach a three-figure-score.
Despite acknowledging that the bowling department was the decisive factor, Bopara gave full credit to the English batsmen for displaying an excellent show in both matches.
"And when it comes to batting, the batters have got big runs. A lot of injuries though have not helped India," shared the 26-year-old batsman who will be replacing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/IJL-Trott-c1576 in the third Test.
Bopara was one of the favourites to be selected in the squad for the recent http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Eoin-Joseph-Gerard-Morgan-c56032 who retained his place for the ongoing high-voltage clash.
Starting from August 10, 2011, the Edgbaston Test will be Bopara's first Test after a break of more than two years as he last played his five-day game against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in 2009.
Commenting on England’s strategy for the next Test which will be a make-or-break contest for the tourists, the London-born right-hander shared, "We want to show the same attitude as in the first two Test and want to every Test."
