India v England 2011: England jealous of India's success, Ravi Shastri’s response to Nasser Hussain – Cricket News Update
While the thrill of the high-voltage series between India and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 is going on in the cricket grounds, the craze has been increasing outside the field with every passing moment.
During the Lord’s Test which was eventually won the home side, there were a number of contentious LBW decisions by the on-field umpires. However, the debate stirred up when the field umpire made another controversial LBW decision during the first innings of the ongoing second Test at Trent Bridge, declaring http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harbhajan-Singh-c61453 out on a ball that hit the bat first before touching the pad.
Yet in both games, neither the bowlers nor the batsmen were able to go for the review since the referral for LBW calls are not allowed.
A few days back, the former English skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nasser-Hussain-c78777, who is following the series as a commentator, lashed out at India’s denial to use the Decision Review System (DRS) for LBW decisions, terming BCCI’s move as a disgrace.
The dispute did not end there as the former Indian skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ravishankar-Jayadritha-Shastri-c84254, joined the party, saying that Hussain has no right to make such comments.
Shastri added that the English players and Cricket Board are criticising the tourists just because they are jealous of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s success over the last few years.
"What right does he have to say disgrace, its for both teams, there are certain things that can be corrected, fair enough England is trying to hit at everything that the BCCI does, everything d**n thing that they do, A they are jealous about the way the IPL is going, they are jealous about where India is in World Cricket, they are jealous about the fact that India are world champions, they are jealous because of the too much money being made by BCCI, bottom-line is that they have never been number 1 in the world in Test cricket," said Shastri.
However, the on-going 4-match Test series will decide the matter for once and for all.
