Gooch described that even though he would love to watch Tendulkar reaching the milestone but he does not want him to smash a century in the upcoming crucial series between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.
The show is going to start off with the high-voltage Lord’s Test, which will be the 2000th encounter in the history of Test cricket. With 51 Test and 48 ODI centuries under his belt, the Indian little master is just one ton short of becoming the
first player to hit 100 centuries at highest level.
While every Indian fan is wishing a hundred from Tendulkar‘s bat in the crucial game, the English batting coach has stated that his team will try its best to stop the legendary batsman to cross three-figure-score during the whole series.
"The 11 guys will be doing their utmost to stop him achieving that. He's a great ambassador for the game. He's been a wonderful cricketer for more than 20 years. I wish him all the best for the rest of his career because he's been an absolute icon and an
inspiration for a lot of people around the world. But I'd like to think he could wait four Tests to get that 100th 100," said Gooch.
He, however, heaped special praise on the Indian star batsman, saying that the huge appetite for runs has always been a trademark of Tendulkar’s batting.
Recalling the early days of Tendulkar’s career, the English coach explained that the Master Blaster made a great impression during his first visit to England, back in 1990.
"You could see that he was going to be a special talent, that he had balance and poise and he had desire, even at a young age, and you could see there was a very big future ahead of that young man," shared the 57-year-old former English cricketer who served
his country in 118 Tests.
