India kick started the ICC World Cup 2011 with a fantastic batting display at Shere Bangla Stadium against Bangladesh. Virendar Sehwag and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Virat-Kohli-c95424 smashed brutal hundreds as the Bangladesh bowling attack was left at the mercy of Indian batting. The dream team of Sehwag and Sachin came out to open the innings for India, as Bangladesh opted to bowl first after winning the toss.
The two right handers took full advantage of the fielding restrictions in the first 10 overs. Sehwag was at his devastating best, while Sachin was more selective about his shots.  There was no swing or bounce for Bangladesh and the opening duo for India took full advantage of conditions.
The first wicket partnership lasted till the 11th over and they added 69 runs together. Sachin was dismissed for 28 runs from 28 balls with four boundaries. Gautham Gambhir came in at number three and continued the good work. Gambhir who normally opens with Sehwag was severe on anything wide of the off stump. Sehwag and Gambhir continued to add quick runs and Bangladesh decided to delay the bowling power-play. However that did not affect Indian batsmen and they continued to score freely. Gambhir was dismissed for 39 runs and was bowled by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahmudullah-c1877. Gambhir ended up scoring three boundaries in his innings. Virat Kohli the former under 19 captain and the man in the form of his life came in to join Sehwag. Sehwag was feeling the heat and started cramping up. The right hander needed a runner and had Gambhir running for him. Kohli meanwhile continued his great form and continued to score quickly.  Sehwag was on track for a big score but was limited to his crease due to his injury.
In the final ten overs of the innings, India really let loose. Sehwag was standing in his crease and continued to hit big shots. While Kohli was trying to match Sehwag shot by shot. Sehwag was looking to break Sachin’s record of 200 runs in One Day International (ODI) cricket but fell short by 25 runs. He was bowled by Shakib al http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hasan-c61990  for 175. He smashed 14 boundaries and five fours during his innings.
Kohli managed to get to his Hundred in the final over, as India posted a massive score of 370 for the loss of 4 wickets. The Bengali Tigers are up to bat next and have a daunting task ahead of them.
