India vs England – 3rd ODI – Toss Report
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 won the toss on his return to his hometown of Ranchi as India opted to field first against England in the crucial third ODI, being played at the newly built HEC International Cricket Stadium Complex.
Dhoni explained that dew could be a factor later in the evening, which will make it difficult for the spinners to grip the ball. The hosts named an unchanged lineup, which convincingly won the previous ODI in Kochi, further allowing them to level the series.
Having made his debut more than eight years ago, it was a special occasion for Dhoni who will be playing in front of a packed home stadium.
"[Playing in Ranchi] It means a lot, a very special feeling. I have grown up here, played a lot of cricket and of the 40,000 people (in the ground), I must have played tennis-ball cricket with at least 15,000. Lot of credit goes to the state cricket association
and its president Amitabh Choudhary. It has hardly taken three years to build this ground. There was a lot of dew when we practised here in the evening the last two days," said Dhoni.
Alastair Cook, the English skipper, was wary of the dew factor but believed that the wicket is indeed good to bat on. The team made one change to the lineup, bringing in the fit again Tim Bresnan for Chris Woakes. "Dew is going to be an important factor.
Looks a good wicket. Bresnan is back, Woakes unlucky to miss out."
They will be hoping to return to winning ways, despite emphatically losing the previous ODI.
