India wins battle in 2nd ODI at Visakhapatnam
Australia must be thinking where they went wrong in preparing for the Indian tour as it seems to be impossible for them to beat http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 on its home turf. With the test defeats on their back the Australians were mulling over wins
in the one day matches but that too seems to be unlikely after the defeat in the second ODI at Visakhapatnam.
After posting a respectable total of 289/3 Australia seemed to be in the driving seat but little did they know what India had coming for them; with an outstanding fielding side and having defended smaller totals earlier, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746
were clearly in their comfort zone, but the flamboyant innings of a 118 from Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina 71, and Yuvraj Singh 58, India won the match with 7 balls still to spare stamping India’s rising domination in the Cricket world.
Australia’s captain Michael http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 after winning the toss chose to bat on the batsman friendly pitch, however his batsmen let him down and on just 16 runs two batsmen were back in the pavilion. At this point Michael Clarke and
Michael Hussey brought stability to the batting lineup. The duo added 144 runs with Hussey getting out on 69 runs while Clarke remained unbeaten on 111. Later Cameron White showed his full potential in batting and made sure that Australia reached a formidable
score by smashing 89 runs from 49 balls including 6 sixes taking the score to 289 in 50 overs.
India’s start was equally disastrous as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Murali-Vijay-c78035 returned after scoring just 15 runs; at this point India were 35 for 2.
Yuvraj Singh and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Virat-Kohli-c95424 then paired up to stop the Australian onslaught. The duo started off slowly frustrating the bowlers and settling themselves in the rebuild process, which later proved to be the demise of the Australian
side. The pair scored 137 runs for the 3rd wicket partnership. Yuvraj, on 58, was knocked out by Clint Mckay bringing in Suresh Raina, who smashed 71 off just 49 balls showing his tremendous touch with the bat. Kohli reached his hard earned century
but was later dismissed for 118 before his team could celebrate a victory. Then http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahendra-Singh-Dhoni-c73820 came in, but failed to make an impression as he got out on the first ball he faced. In the end it was Suresh Raina and Saurabh Tiwary who clinched a well earned
victory.
