Indian Alfie storms to victory at Crayford
Indian Alfie performed exceptionally well in the 380 metres Grade A2 race at Crayford in England on Friday, February 3, 2012. He ran to a comprehensive victory, winning a cash prize of £133.
The bookmakers had complete confidence in Indian Alfie, thus gave him a starting price of 4 to 5, making him the favourite greyhound to win. They were not disappointed at all, as there were no surprises in the event.
The triumphant dog completed the race distance in 23.64 seconds, after popping out from trap number one. He got off to a decent start, and kept on pressing harder as the race progressed. No one else was able to challenge him, as he gained a solid momentum
at the start.
S. J Gammon’s trained hound is the son of Ballymac Maeve, out of Indian Bullseye and he was born in May, 2009.
Ballymac Rosalin, who has been producing some decent performances over the past few races, finished as the runner up. She had a good day overall, but failed to challenge the winning greyhound in the end.
The runner up b***h managed to cover the race distance in 23.98 seconds, after breaking in from trap number two. She was given a starting price of 4 to 1, which was very good and the punters would have certainly put their money on her.
P. A. Tompsett’s trained b***h is the daughter of Premier Fantasy, out of Ballymac Mir and was born in January, 2009.
Third place went to Isaweverything, who had a starting price of 5 to 1. She gave a tough time to the runner up b***h, but was unable to catch her in the end. Her finishing time was 24.06 seconds, after entering from trap number four.
The third placed greyhound is trained by P. J. Cusack, and is the daughter of Boherduff Light out of I Saw. She was born in March, 2008.
Blacknomilk, another greyhound trained by Cusack, completed the race in fourth place, after having started from trap number six. She was unable to challenge the top three and clocked the distance in 24.46 seconds.
The fourth placed b***h is the daughter of Fortune Mike, out of Berts Baby and was born in February, 2008.
Skidndaddy and Tommys Loaded completed the order of finish, ending up fifth and sixth, respectively.
The short distance races are always exciting, and the greyhound that starts well, mostly ends up on top.
