Indian Art expected to dominate Willis Lease Finance Corporation Handicap
Indian Art is likely to dominate proceedings in the Willis Lease Finance Corporation Handicap at Goodwood in England on Friday, May 25, 2012. A cash prize of £4,852 will be awarded to the winner of the class-4 event.
The going will be good to firm in the 7 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 15:10 GMT. A total of 12 runners will be seen in action and their names are as follows: Indian Art, Shifting Star, Kingsdine, Kingscroft, Piscean, Corporal Maddox, Space Station, Rougette, Konstantin, George Baker, Rafaaf and Bunce.
There are some very good runners taking part in the race, but the momentum appears to be with Indian Art, who has been in spectacular form over the past few events. He will definitely attract a lot of bets in his favour today.
Although the six-year-old gelding does not have a good strike rate, his recent form has been good. He has won a couple of back to back events, which means that he will be chasing a hat-trick of victories today.
Overall, the Sylvester Kirk’s trainee has participated in 23 races, winning four of them and finishing runner up on five occasions. Moreover, he has secured the third spot on a couple of times, which proves that he is fully capable of fighting for top positions.
The in-form runner will be partnered by Richard Hughes, who has got a terrific record at this level. He has enjoyed plenty of success in his career and will be looking forward to an impressive show yet again.
Although Indian Art’s current form is impressive, the experience of Piscean cannot be ignored at all. He has participated in 64 events and has managed to perform decently in different conditions.
The seven-year-old gelding has managed to win 10 races in his career whereas finished runner up on five occasions. In addition to that, he has secured the third spot on three times.
However, the Tom Keddy’s trainee is a touch inconsistent, which might discourage the punters from risking money on him. He was victorious in his penultimate outing, but failed to impress in his most recent one, finishing 24th in it.
Piscean will need to be at his absolute best in order to come anywhere closer to the race favourite today.
