India’s master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, on Friday, decided not to be part of the Indian squad for the three-match Test series set to begin from 20 Jun, 2011.
According to insiders the batting maestro had personally requested the Board of Control for Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 (BCCI) not to consider him for the series. After this latest development he will miss the whole tour as he was already rested for the five-match
one-day series in the Caribbean.
Giving details about Tendulkar’s omission from the Test squad, the secretary of the BCCI, N. Srinivasan said, “Tendulkar requested that he be allowed to spend time with his family. He will therefore not play the Test series.”
Nonetheless, it has been clarified by the Indian board that the player will be available for the English tour which the Indian team will embark on after the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 series.
Sachin is currently aiming to help his side the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians, lift the cup in the fourth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) by defeating Bangalore to earn a meeting with Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings in the final.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chinnadupargea-Sachin-c50607 who has scored 99 international centuries, will have to wait until the end of the West Indies tour to get an opportunity to score his 100th century, a feat which no other cricketer has earned in the history of the game.
Sachin, who could have scored a the prized century even in the world cup 2011, failed to do so and now, the Indian fans are eager to root him when he finally reaches the milestone.
Nonetheless, there were already some rumours in the Indian media about the possible dropping of senior players for the Windes tour, to give the players some rest as right after winning the world cup, most Indian players opted to play for their respective
franchises in the ongoing IPL-4.
Another reason for the main players to miss the tournament is the fact the cricket authorities in India want youngsters to be given a chance to test their mettle and playing in the Caribbean will provide the younger generation of Indian cricketers a good
exposure.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/G-Gambhir-c1447 and Yuvraj Singh have also been dropped from the Test squad because of injuries.
