Indian Food!?

I've heard that Indian food is really really hot. Is that true and is it even any good? A new Indian Cuisine Restaurant is going to be opening up near me in Carver, MA and I'm excited. Any opinions?

  1. I agree, keep an open mind and try it first.  Not all of the dishes are hot and spicy, ask the waiter for mild.


  2. Not all of it is hot. (like Korma or Bhiriyani) They do have some spicy dishes however (like Vindaloo).

    Something for everybody.

  4. it's delicious! not all indian dishes are hot! some are not hot at all. try the dhall, tandoori chicken, saffron rice. also ask for the chef's recommendations on wat is not spicy!

  6. It all depends on the menu and receipe. It ranges  between all the 6 taste combinations. If  hot -its from very hot  to mild chilly taste. Black pepper,  white pepper and  variety of fresh  and dried chiilies are used. Yes it's not only good but BEST.  You shuld be excited  and you will know when the outlet opens.

  7. Not all Indian dishes are spicy. If you are going to a restaurant you can tell them not to make it too spicy but you should definitely try Indian food, its tasty.

    You might also want to try and cook some on your own and then make it as spicy as you are used to eating.

  9. Indian food can be very hot but when I go out to eat at the Indian restaurant here I ask the waiter what foods are the least hot and spicy.  I have eaten there many times and the food is terrific and any employee of the restaurant will help you with some food choices--don't be afraid to ask.

  10. Indian food is delicious and can be spicy but not all dishes are hot.  You can always order everything "mild".  I encourage you to try Indian food at least once and then decide if you like it or not.

    Good first time choices:  samosas or pakoras, tandoori chicken, veg korma, saffron pulao, mango lassi

  11. Not all dishes are hot-  and the ones that are- you can tell them how hot you want it to be.  Indian food rocks-  you need to try it!

  12. I love Indian food and do not find all of it hot.  I do not care for really spicy food either.  I would ask your server what they recomend.

  13. Good Indian restaurant give you a choice etween mild medium and hot.

    Try a Korma. It is made with coco-milk and really not too hot.

  14. im not Indian but Indian in my fav food they def have the best recipes. The Arab world has adapted many..
