Indian People ~ Should The Indian Government Prohibit Its Citizens From Going To The Gulf???

There are thousands of Indians that go to the Gulf every year for work. We have all heard stories about how they are treated like animals, slaves and are regarded as sub human.

Do you agree that it is about time the Indian government places strict controls on its citizens from going to the arab world for work?

All Indian businessmen tycoons and wealthy Indians can come together and create some kind of social enterprise whereby those Indians will have work at home and thus will not need to go to the arab world....

Look at the respect that Indians are given:

I accept that many only go for work, however a human being should never comrpomise his dignity, pride and self respect.....

The very fact that despite India's rising superpower status and the number of wealthy Indians and NRIs there are, lower class Indians are still having to be slaves for the muslim world should be a source of shame and embarassment to Indians everywhere.

  1. As long as India cannot provide job opportunities to their citizens and erradicate unemployment totally, Indian Governmen t has no moral right to  prevent Indians to go abroad for job.

  2. No, The Indian Government shouldn't Prohibit Its Citizens From Going To The Gulf. But The Govt. can do a better thing by seting a separate department whish will fully dedicated to oversease  employeement and immigration services. and also initiate relationship with oversease employeement firms.

  3. NO .

  4. It is not a matter of rich or poor, muslim or buddhist, but it is a matter of being exploited because the people being exploited have no support from their governments.

Indian government should create better support base for its citizens who go abroad for job purposes. After all, the Indian embassies are supposed to do all that. The government should stipulate rules and regulations for people going abroad and for the people who hire cheap labour from India.

Lack of transparency, government apathy and lack of speedy justice are the reasons for exploitations. Unless and until these problems are done away with anyone with money in hand will be able to exploit people who have no money but need it badly.

The abroad jobs, including gulf jobs, bring sources of livelihood for people are not getting paid well in India. These jobs also bring the much needed foreign exchange to India. Prohibiting people from going to gulf will not work but more support from Indian government will work.    People from Europe and US also go to gulf but are not exploited as their governments support their citizens.

  5. the picture is not just a mirage for those who wish to be transported to the Land of the Arabian Nights. The search for `greener pastures' hasn't stopped luring multitudes of Indians journeying to the land of black gold, in search of fortune.

Shiva and Krishna Mandir) is a temple complex in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The temple caters to the large Hindu community in the United Arab Emirates and is the only Hindu temple in that country. And Qatar have the only biggest in asia RC church

Whenever the topic of highly paid jobs in the UAE came up in the presence of Indians (and they did not know who I was) the above scam was repeated verbatim. Indeed once they tried to recruit me into the scam thinking that I was a Hindu Brit !!!!!!

Before departing from the UAE I wrote a letter on this subject to Khaleej Times volunteering to even provide names of those who I knew had binned applications from Muslims candidates and the relevant organizations. But as expected I never received a reply from K. Times.

Travelling to this enchanting part of the world can be exciting. Making sure you do things right can get you into the good graces of the `Sheiks' and `Emirs' and will save you a lot of embarrassment and discomfiture, and also put you on the right footing with your business associates and co-workers.

  6. Gandhiji ' Father of our Nation ' worked in Africa & yet he did not give up his fight against injustice there.  This should set a president to all Indians who are working in any part of the world & fight for any kind of discrimination with the help of Human Rights Groups.  There is nothing to be ashamed of to work for any religion which Indians have learnt when India was ruled for centuries by invaders.
