The legendary leg-spinner announced his retirement from professional cricket at the conclusion of the Big Bash Twenty20 tournament and thus would not be taking part in this year’s edition of the IPL.

lost the semis to Sydney Sixers – who eventually went on to win the tournament. The right-handed basher scored loads of run in that tournament. Shah gashed 282 runs at an average of 70.50.
Warne’s absence not only means that the Royals will be missing a top quality spinner, but they will also miss a great leader. The Australian inspired Royals to glory in the inaugural IPL season and was in-charge of the team until he announced his retirement.
