Indian Squad announced for T20 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JH-Kallis-c1692, on March 30 at Johannesburg.
The selection committee has made only one change from the squad named for the upcoming Asia Cup - including opening batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556, who does not feature in the shortest format.
Uthappa’s last featured in the only T20 game against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Vijay-Samuel-Hazare-c95227 Trophy finally had him noticed
by the selection panel, which chose him to substitute for Tendulkar.
Uthappa had a successful start to his ODI career, where he made 86 runs in his debut match, which remains the highest score by any Indian player in their first outing. The right-hander also played a very pivotal role in the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007
- helping his team to successfully lift the trophy at the expense of their fierce rivals http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755.
The rest of the side has familiar faces, with veterans http://www.senore.com/Cricket/YK-Pathan-c2815.
Both players will be looking to impress in the upcoming Asia Cup in a bid to cement their places.
Cricket South Africa has planned to arrange such events on a regular basis to honour their national heroes, who have performed commendably for the national team. Last year, CSA organized a similar T20 match between the two sides to honour fast bowler, Makhaya
Ntini.
The Indian team will depart for South Africa on March 28, following the conclusion of the Asia Cup, where they will be defending their crown.
