why are elephants and tigers used so much in indian art?

Artist will paint what they see the most....similar to those who weave rugs. They will weave their surrounding into the rug. ie, persian, indian rug designs....Indians see elephants, tigers and Monkeys ( bad luck).

Because they are found in India and in ancient time kings hunt these animals or capture them.And some of the art in India are based on history.

Because during ancient days Elephant and Tiger were abundanty found and they are treated as symbols of some kingdoms for example king Ashoka had made lion his symbol
