Indian board announces new IPL members
The Board of Control for Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 (BCCI) has made major changes in the Indian Premier League council as well as announcing the members of the various sub-committees within the board.

The number of members in the IPL Governing Council was reduced to eight – out of which there will be six non-cricketers and two cricketers. The six from the non-cricketing fraternity were chairman Chirayu
Amin, Arun Jaitley, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ranjib-Biswal-c83999, Anurag Thakur, Ajay Shirke and Rajiv Shukla. Lalit Modi, IS Bindra and Farooq Abdullah were dropped from the committee.

However, the biggest piece of news comes in the form of the fact that the governing council members will not be paid any salary – it will be an honorary post. Earlier, the members were paid $220,000 per annum.

Not only the salary, but the term was reduced too. During the time of Modi as the chairman, the tenure was for five years, which has been changed to one year. This has been done to ensure that there were
no repeats of the controversies associated with Modi.

The BCCI will also send notices to three of the IPL teams who were allegedly involved in financial irregularities. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833, which have already been under the scanner for issues
related to financial issues will be sent the notices, while Kochi will need to have their joint venture established in the next ten days.

As a part of setting things right in the IPL, the BCCI has complained to the police about the financial irregularities exhibited by two of the firms involved in the previous IPL; Ticket Genie and Visual Impact.

In a surprising move, the BCCI said that it will withdraw all the court cases filed against former ICC chairman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jagmohan-Dalmiya-c65287.
