“Indian captain Mahindra Singh Dhoni says that the break from the ODI series against West Indies helped him rejuvenate himself”
Being on a 15 days break has been helpful for the Indian skipper Dhoni. He expressed these views before media ahead of the first test again http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 on 20th June, 2011.
Dhoni was not part of the Indian ODI squad against West Indies as he was given rest for Test series starting today on 20th June, 2011 after long played World cup and IPL.
Senior Indian players had requested BCCI to give them some rest after the World Cup, 2011 and a rejoiced victory. Dhoni who was also part of the Indian Premier League leading Chennai super kings for the title wanted a break to regain his energy and fitness.
The players on rest were Zaheer, Sehwag, Ghambir, Tendulkar and the skipper Dhoni. With the seniors staying back, the Indian youngsters departed for their first international series under the captaincy of struggling http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SK-Raina-c2539.
Many concerns were raised about the team’s performance in the series without the experienced players but the team did well, wining the ODI series against West Indies by 3-2.
Darren Fletcher, the current Indian coach was happy with the performance of the youngsters and was anxious to work with the senior Indian players on rest.
This break was much needed for Dhoni as he says it has rejuvenated him and healed all his injuries.
"Personally it helped me. Suddenly you find all those small injuries vanish. There is plenty of energy now and it's not as if you are running on reserves”.

are not fit and fresh.
Now as Dhoni is back for the Test series against West Indies, Skipper says that he is happy to be back in action.

When the Indian coach found that the pitch for the first test was slow, the team had refused to practice on the pitches of Sabina Park and the batsmen were sent to other places for their batting practice.

Hence the Skipper calls it a challenge for the Indian batsmen to put a decent total on such a pitch as it would give the host bowlers an edge.
With Munaf struggling with his elbow injury, skipper seems to be a little concerned and states that for a high profile series like this, fitness is the crucial element for success. In this regard he said that he had welcomed his break of 15 days.
