Kindly guide me

1. India gained independence on 15th Aug.How can I find whether a coin minted in 1947 was minted in British India or in independent India.

2.From where I can get figures of total no. of Indian Republic currency notes of particular denomination issued in a particular year.Central office of RBI

does not have this information.
