Indian dvd players?

Question

I am going to convert a VHS videotape to a DVD, at a store that does this. Will the dvd produced universally work on Indian DVD players??

if not, is there a way to get this to be copied in such a way that it will play only on their indian players...it is a gift for them...

Depends on which brand of DVD player your friend has. My Sony's DVD Player is universal and it plays DVDs from US and Europe. But as someone already said make your DVD region free while burning. Safe bet.
