Indian fans! What do you think of Shapiro dismantling your team for prospects?

Question

I know the Twins made out allright in the Santana deal and Delmon Young deal,but Blake and Sabbathia? I know he was thinking about their free agency next year,but both are very good ballplayers-what do you think? Are you sick or happy for these deals?(Us Tiger fans LOVE both of them-lol)

As an Indians fan and 20 game ticket holder, I do not have bad feelings about either trade. Sabathia was going to leave anyways and our team is going nowhere this year. Blake was signed to one year after threatening to go to arbitration this past offseason. They need to play Marte to see if and where he fits into this club and same with Garko. You can't play them on a regular basis with Blake on the bench. I heard Shapiro may try to resign both but I don't see him getting Sabathia, maybe Blake, though. As for giving up and hoisting the white flag, this team was doing poorly BEFORE the injury bug hit. What I am also saying is why not get something for these guys while they can, especially Sabathia. Be REALISTIC here.

Their Season was going no where after the injuries to Hafner and Martinez.

They needed to get as much as they could for Sabathia and Blake.

So they can build around Sizemore/Carmona for the future.

As A Dodger fan I thank you for letting us RENT Blake for the rest of the season.

you were going to lose Sabathia after this year anyways so you might as well of gotten something for him.

About the same as I do about the Dolan's changing the name of the Stadium. I'm not real happy that they just let it all go so early. Sure they're looking to rebuild for next season but why quit in the middle of a season when maybe they could of at least saved face. But being a life time Indians fan, none of this surprises me.  Been thru this before. What really angers me is the fact that it's all about the $$$.

The fans with the season tickets are getting the worst end of the deal. I've already been given tickets that are awesome seats for free. Best of luck to you Tiger fans, not only did you get some good players, but you still have a team!  :`((

Given the wa the season was going and the fact that they would have lost both and gotten much less in draft picks, this was probably a better deal. It is just hard if you are a season ticket holder and a team raises the white flag this early.

I don't agree with the Casey Blake trade, but he is one of the best GMs in the game so I guess you have to trust him cause he does know what he is doing....remember when he traded Bartolo Colon for Sizemore, Cliff Lee, Brandon Phillips, and Lee Stevens...maybe the trades he made this year will have the same affect in the future
