Does anyone know a simple recipe to make flour dumplings? I'm Trinidadian and was wondering if any Indians had some simple reipes.

One I found said to just use flour and water. Another called for flour, water, salt, and baking powder. What do you think?

Also, could you show the directions for making it, please? Thanks =-)

  1. here it is

    1 c. flour

    1/4 tsp. salt

    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Add shortening to milk. Stir enough liquid into the dry mixture to make a soft dough. Cook 12 minutes.

  2. Here's a recipe for you:

    Flour Dumplings (Sinkers/Spinners) Recipe #183964

    26 min | 6 min prep

    1 -2 dozen

    1 cup all-purpose flour

    1/4 teaspoon salt

    water, as needed

Sift the flour and salt into a bowl and slowly add enough cold water to make a stiff dough.

(A sticky dough makes a soft pasty dumpling.).

Knead in the bowl or on a lightly floured board until smooth.

Break off small pieces about the size of a walnut and roll between your hands. It should be similar to a long tube with pointy ends. They're usually about 3-4 inches long.

Immerse into salted boiling water and cook for 15-20 minutes.

Or add to soups and stews and cook for the same period or longer.
