  1. very delicious and very different. try the butter chicken, mango lassi ( yougurt smoothie), curry chicken, curry prawn and their bread. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... love indian food. i am of indian descent and my mom and aunts and uncles can cook a mean indian dish. try sweet rice for desert.

  2. My advice would be to try the Korma, it is a very mild creamy curry, also butter chicken, tikka masala.

They are milder of the curries.

Grab a takeaway menu the dishes always come with a description of what it contains, spices, heat etc, and read up prior to going.

Try the garlic naan, (puffy baked bread cooked in a tandoori oven), lovely dipped in raita (cucumber, yoghurt sauce, very refreshing)

I'm confident you will love Indian food once you taste it, I was hooked first time.

If you go with a larger group try and go for the banquet, that way you get to try lots of different dishes in one sitting.

    Good luck from NZ.

  3. I like Indian a lot. In most restaurants you can specify the spice level from mild to "blow your head off". For the first time, I would recommend tandori chicken. It's a very flavorful chicken made in a tandori oven. Naan is a flat bread also made in a tandori oven.

  4. I really like Indian food, and so does my BF (he was a newbie to it as well).  First off, I really think that she would want you to be honest with her.  To me it would be much more fun to share your new experience with you than for you to be caught in a lie.  If she has had Indian food before she would be able to ease you in with some dishes, and get to show off her knowledge of the cuisine.

So my advice, be honest.  Second, enjoy, it is spicy and delicious.  Third, as a beginner I would say stick to the curry, samosas and the bread.

  5. Can't say what your pallete will like or dislike so i advise you to go to a Indian buffet. Take a spoonfull of everything on a plate. Taste everything. Decide what you want a proper helping of.

My non- Indian friends love- tandoori chicken, chicken vindaloo, chicken masala, chola, samosa

  6. I love Indian foods they are spicy but if they are made for westerners they are less spicy but even with that some westerners can't stand them.

I would suggest you try their indian bread,  Marsala with prawn, or curry chicken.

  7. Curry is very very popular in Indian dishes. I would recommend getting a curry chicken with rice. The curry may be mixed with coconut milk and be a little spicy. The rice usually has the mixed peas and carrots mix inside. it comes with Nann which is pita bread. Also the Tandori chicken is popular, its grilled chicken and its red.

  8. indian food is really good its spicy but not too harsh. you should definitely try it though! curry chicken is delicious!
