Indian team management rubbishes rift reports - Cricket News Update
The Board of Control for Cricket India’s top brass, including the board’s president and vice president, the Indian team management has stepped forward to clear the air, after the counter statements from Dhoni and Sehwag triggered speculations of dissension
in the Indian dressing room.
They strongly rubbished the reports of any rift in the dressing room, and the Indian manager GS Walia said that there were no issues prevailing in the team that need to be resolved by the intervention of team coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Duncan-Andrew-Gwynne-Fletcher-c54742.
"There was no communication gap [between Dhoni and Sehwag] and the team is concerned about whatever media has been writing," said the Indian cricket team manger GS http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kamaljit-Walia-c70096 from Sydney.
"Let us all forget it and be positive in the future. There are no differences but we will be vigilant in future and avoid such situations," he added further.
Reports had emerged on Thursday that the top management of the BCCI, back at home, wants the Indian coach Duncan Fletcher to play his role to calm down skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 and his deputy Virender Sehwag on the controversial rotation policy, being
adopted by the Indian team management in the ongoing triangular Commonwealth Bank series.
The rotation policy was going well before Dhoni explained the logic behind the policy in a press conference on Sunday, saying that slow fielding was the reason behind the rotation of three openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/G-Gambhir-c1447.
Virender Sehwag, who stood in for Dhoni in Sunday’s tri-series match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, contradicted Dhoni in a separate press conference saying, "I did not know what he [Dhoni] said and what's going on in the media. He told us he wanted to give a chance
to youngsters who had come here and play the next World Cup. That's what he told us."
The verbal duel between Dhoni and Sehwag did not go unnoticed by the media and since then there have been growing speculations that all is not well in the Indian dressing room.
Earlier the BCCI president N http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Srinivasan-c90829 and Vice president Rajiv Shukla had also denied the reports of rift saying the statements are being exaggerated or Sehwag is being misquoted.
