Indian v England 2011: Despite great performance at Trent Bridge, Tim Bresnan not sure about Edgbaston – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TT-Bresnan-c2711, is not sure about his inclusion in the side for the upcoming Edgbaston Test, despite his outstanding all-round performance in the second Test at Trent Bridge.
Making the best use of the opportunity, Bresnan displayed an excellent performance with both bat and ball. He scored over-100 runs in the game and bagged seven wickets including his maiden five-wicket
haul in Test cricket.
His excellent spell came after his fabulous 82-run-partnerhip with Stuart Broad which eventually helped Englishmen extend their lead to 477.
Yet, Bresnan said that he can only hope for the next game since it all depends on the team management to pick the final playing XI.
"I think I definitely grabbed my chance with both hands. And that is pretty much all I can do now. It`s up to the selectors, the captain or whoever is going to make the decision to pick the side for the
next game. It`s going to be a tough decision, someone is going to have to miss out and someone is going to be very disappointed, and I hope it isn`t me," said Bresnan.
The Yorkshire-born pacer was one of the favourite options to be selected in the side for the Lord’s Test but http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SCJ-Broad-c2465 earned the final call. However, Chris Tremlett’s injury gave him an opportunity
to prove his worth in the longer version of the game and Bresnan did not let it go in vain.
Enormously delighted over presenting a superb show at Trent Bridge, the 26-year-old fast bowler described that his confidence is on a high after performing well in the second game.
It`s a good position for English cricket really and I`ve said this all along, if you`ve got a stable of bowlers to choose from then it`s going to give the selectors a headache and thankfully that`s not
my problem and I don`t have to worry about that," shared the aggressive paceman who has 32 Test wickets to his credit.
Meanwhile, he vowed to carry on the good work if he is given a chance to play in the third Test.
