Indiana Fever’s Katie Douglas and Minnesota Lynx’s Rebekkah Brunson crowned WNBA Players of the Week
Indiana Fever’s Katie Douglas and Minnesota Lynx’s Rebekkah Brunson have been crowned as Women National Basketball Association (WNBA) ‘Players of the Week’ in the Eastern and the Western conference respectively, for the games played
from the season start through June 12.

Katie Douglas played commendably throughout the week, leading Indiana Fever to a 2-1 record. Douglas had a phenomenal week in which she scored at an average of 21.0 points and 5.0 rebounds. In addition to that, she also paced the
league from downtown and hit league-best 10 three-pointers.
On June 10, Katie Douglas contributed a game-high 27 points, while tying the franchise record and her career high, by making six three-pointers in Indiana’s 81-80 loss against the New York Liberty at Conseco Fieldhouse. Douglas
also pulled down four rebounds and shot at 10-for-18 from the field. On the very next night, the mercurial forward posted 17 points, grabbed four rebounds, and dished out four assists as her team soared to an 86-80 win over New York.
Rebekkah Brunson
Brunson led the Minnesota Lynx to a 3-1 record in the week under the spotlight. The six year forward registered a double-double every time she graced the court during the week. At present, the 29-year-old is heading the WNBA with
a terrific average of 14.8 points and 14.0 rebounds per game. Brunson also recorded a marvellous 64.1 percent field goal percentage during the week, second best in WNBA.
On June 7, Rebekkah Brunson erupted with a team-high 22 points, shooting a fantastic 9-for-11 from the field. In addition to that, she also made an impact on the paint with 14 rebounds as her team defeated the defending champion
Seattle Storm 81-74. She scored 11 of her points in the first half of the game, shooting 5-for-6 from the field, as Minnesota held a commendable 50-24 lead at halftime. She slipped a driving layup and followed it with a jumper with 39 seconds remaining in
the first half to stretch the Lynx’s lead to 50-22 lead, their biggest of the game.
