Indiana Pacers win at Home to Cleveland Cavaliers 100 - 89
After the huge win against Miami Heat in the previous match, the Pacers fan’s eyes were on the second game of the team’s back to back, a home matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Small forward Danny Granger lead Pacer’s total team effort with in a win
over Cleveland Cavaliers at Conseco Fieldhouse, Indianapolis. Danny Granger finished with a game-high 24 points, 3 assists and 5 rebounds, bringing 12,629 foes to their feet.
At Pacer’s end, beside the incredible performance of Granger, three other players scored points in double digits. Darren Collison added 18 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds and shooting guard Brandon Rush netted 16 points and 3 rebounds off the bench for the
Pacers. Mike Dunleavy had 10 points and 6 boards.
Not even a single player for the Cavalier’s could exceed 15 points. Point Guard Ramon Sessions led the team with 15 points, 5 assists and 6 rebounds and Daniel Gibson followed him with 15 points, 2 assists, and 4 rebounds. Guard–Forward Joey Graham contributed
with his 11 points.
The Pacer’s offense play was not spot on in the first quarter, but once again, they found a way to lead the first quarter of the game, 24 – 16. Rush threw in a one-handed runner just before the first quarter buzzer rang to give the Pacers an 8 point lead
after the opening 12 minutes.
In the second quarter, Indiana got it going offensively, extended their dominance to the second quarter of the game and dragged their further with the scores at 62 – 37. James Posey hit a three pointer and Granger made a 2 at the stripe in the closing first
half of the game.
Cavalier’s performance was not up to the mark even in the third quarter of the game. Dunleavy's trey and Rush's reverse layup boosted up Pacers with a massive 32-point advantage, at 77-45, with the clock running down to 5:12 in the third quarter.
Cleveland fought hard during the final session of the game to make the score a respectable one, scoring 33 points in the fourth to show up only 11 down when the buzzer sounded. Although, Cavaliers accelerated during the final session of the play but it was
a bit too late from them as the Pacers stamped their victory with the final scores at 100 – 89.
After the game Pacer’s center Roy Hibbert was nothing but praise for his team,
"We're growing as a team," said Hibbert after the match they won quite convincingly.
The Pacers’ back-to-back wins could be a great sign as the team moves forward in the competition.
