  1. I will give you a brief play by play so you can know what to expect if/when you ride it.

First, you will be suited up in a harness appropriate for your size. If  you are riding with more or more friends, the attendants will ask who is planning on pulling the ripcord, and that person will be placed on the right hand side once reaching the platform. Once you put the harness on, you will be told to hold onto your footbar (you will learn what it is for later) and the attendants will walk you to a platform, and it will be raised to a level where the current riders will be disconnected from the cables and you can take their place. One to three riders can ride at one time.

One it is your turn, you will have your back to the cables while they hook you up. If you are by yourself, you will be asked to raise your arms as they make adjstments. If two or more riders are riding together, you will first be asked to raise your arms while you are connected to each other. Then, you will be asked to join arms with each other, and you will have to maintain this position during the entire freefall. Hope you like the person next to you! :) You will then be asked to drop your footbar (bar you have been holding all of this time), stand on it (kinda tough the first time) and fall foward onto your stomach when instructed to. Its a trip, but don't worry, there is more to come. ;)

Its time to ride, and after you are on your stomach, suspended by the cables, you will be pulled backwards up the tower. This can be quite unnerving, esp for first time riders. I will admit that I was quite scared the first time! Once at the top, you will either hear the operators say "3..2...1....FLY", or the attendants may wave their arms. You, if riding alone, or the person on the right, will pull a ripcord to begin your descent. It is not too intense of a feeling, like on drop towers, but you will feel like you are falling. You will then swing up the other side, and you will continue to swing a few times. You will then be instructed to grab a loop (while the attendant holds the other end of it) to being yourself to a stop. The platform will again be raised, and you will be assisted to a normal standing position.

If you have not experienced anything like this, or are just starting to enjoy rollercoasters and thrill rides, you can expect to feel nervous on this type of ride. I sure did! :) I am hooked now however, and have ridden several of these, and there is  300 ft version near Orlando that I have my sights set on. ;)

Not all of my friends know this: When I was 20 and was new to the coaster/thrill-ride scene with only three coasters under my belt, I chickened out the first time. I had to wait a few months for my next chance to ride, and I kicked myself about it the entire time. When that time came, I would have backed out if I didn't have two family members watching. I was sooo scared, but I am sure glad I finally did it. I was hooked ever since! I was nervous, very nervous, but once I was high enough where I couldn't hear the sounds of the park below me, I didn't have a care in the world. I didn't notice my nerves anymore, and felt like I could do anything. It was such a good feeling!

Get out there and ride, and have fun!
