I was contacted today by young female, asking to adopt her child. What is the easy and the cheapest way to do it. We all made an agreement. My husband and I will accept her child. What do we do next?

  1. Have you shown her this -

And are you allowing her to have a change of mind after the baby is born if she so wishes????

As that would be the most ethical thing to do.

What's absolutely best for a child - is to grow with the one he/she grew inside of.

    Best emotionally and psychologically.

If this really is the way she wants to go - fine - but please let her know her rights - and let her have an attorney of her own that will look after her rights.

Children grow up - and want to know the one's they look like, act like, have talents like - so please do make sure it's as open adoption.

Not knowing where you came from - or who gave birth to you - is a really bad head mess for adoptees - and the hurt from being given away by your mother - just never really goes away.

Please do make sure you are fully aware of issues that adoptees face - as that is in the child's best interests - not the adults that make all the decisions - with adoptees having absolutely no say.

  2. I live in Indiana too, near the Evansville area and I agree with the above, you should hire an attorney, and also probably contact an adoption agency that does social work and get tips from them, because they will most likely know step by step of what you need to do to complete the process of adopting a child.

  3. Congrats! I would call an adoption lawyer. Its important to have an attorney that is familiar with adoption laws. http://www.adoptionattorneys.org/ they can help you from there.
