Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning was hurt over firing of team’s official, says his father Archie – NFL News
Indianapolis Colts’ most talked about quarterback, Peyton Manning, is one of few lucky sons who have their fathers always at their back at the times of highs and lows of their career, and his dad Archie Manning has proven time and again that he would not
disappoint his son at the time of his need.
Archie, who kept highlighting the issue of Peyton through his repetitive statements along and after the 2011 National Football League (NFL) regular season, has spoken of his son’s hurt over hearing that so many officials who he had worked with were leaving
Colts.
No one could have reflected on the Peyton’s situation better than his father, who being himself a quarterback from the past, knows the game and politics of the game well inside, for having gone through all this himself.
In his latest comments on the situation of his son, Archie said that Peyton was a kind of hurt to see all his former managers and coaches at Colts gone in one go
"(Peyton) was kind of hurt to see those people in the organization leaving, and I think that's what he was expressing," he said. "The way Jim reacted to it, I didn't quite understand it. But I knew this would not turn into a verbal war. Jim has been good
to Peyton, and Peyton has been good to Jim. They're good friends and they called each other and that was the end of it."
Archie was apparently referring to the strife in relationship between Peyton Manning and his employer, Jim Irsay. He said that Peyton could not have reacted to the situation in a better way, given the amount of uncertainty he was in since sacking of all
those officials.
This is another time that Archie has come to defend Manning, as in one of his earlier statements he said that there should not be any issue for Peyton Manning to play besides Colts prospective rookie quarterback signee in the draft season.
Peyton Manning also have had some support from his younger brother, Eli Manning, who is a quarterback at the New York Giants. Eli has especially been more hopeful of his brother’s recovery from his neck surgery and return to Colts in the later part of the
past season than anyone else.
Following the suit of their father both brothers have a long NFL career as a quarterback and have risen higher in their calibre due to their superb performance.
The issue of Peyton’s recovery and return to Colts has hit all highs of the media publicity attracting a sympathy for him from all segments of the American football society. The football fans have especially been front runner in the campaign supporting recovery
and return of the player.
