Indianapolis Colts’ QB Peyton Manning’s recovery efforts continue unabated – NFL News
The recovery process of Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback, Peyton Manning, has continued unabated, and apparently unnoticed to his employer, teammates and other members of the football community.
A posting on twitter from one of the US college league football players, who had done a workout with Peyton at the Duke University’s facility, disclosed the continuity in the player’s recovery, which confirms that the QB is not much affected by the talk
and controversy around his future.
The news was later confirmed by a spokesman of the University’s athletic department that Peyton Manning and rookie, Todd Helton, completed a workout together last week.
It was a tweet from Duke Blue Devils’ Centre, Matt Skura, that he did a workout next to Peyton Manning, had actually blown the cover on the player’s recovery process.
Peyton had a neck surgery in September 2011, which was his third in 19 months, and has been in recovery since then.
He was restricted to a limited workout and could not manage throwing of football in earlier part of the 2011 National Football League (NFL) regular season. He has intensified his workout since clearance from his doctor, which came in the later part of season.
The QB once took snaps with his teammates in a practice session of his team, the Indianapolis Colts, and the workout had led to hopes of his return to his side some time later in the past season.
He in the following weeks was confirmed to be impossibility for the season by his employer, Jim Irsay, who is owner of the franchise. Further, he was disallowed to work on his recovery with his teammates, as according to his coach he was better off to recover
through individual workout.
Manning has been working on his recovery unstopped since then and all people around him have confirmed his intensions and hard work for staging a comeback to play football again.
The prospects of him being able to play football for more seasons to come were confirmed by his doctor’s recent statement, which all cleared him to play any time in the future.
Eli Manning, the younger member of the Manning family, had earlier echoed similar assurances. Eli, who is a quarterback at the reigning NFL champions, New York Giants, said that his elder brother was working hard on his recovery and would be able to come
back some point in the future.
Peyton’s father, Archie Manning, has also come to his son’s rescue on many occasions. In one of his recent statements, he has categorically denied the possibility of Peyton announcing retirement from NFL any time in the near future.
The latest reports of Peyton Manning continuously working on his recovery confirm all these statements that he was very much focused to play football again with or without Colts.
