Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano aims to forget Jacksonville Jaguars loss – NFL News
Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano has only one message out of the loss versus Jacksonville Jaguars for his players and that is to get over with it as soon as they can.
As the official looks for an answer to the question of the loss that came as a result of an 80-yard impressive touchdown score from Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert in the closing minutes, he apparently does not find one. It was just one wild pass that
made the difference in the game and the Colts despite having done well ended up on the losing side.
Chuck said:
"You point out like we are doing, `Here's what we did well, but this is what's killing us and these are the areas that we have to address and this is why. You show them the tape. You spell it out on paper. You show him the stats. It's all situational football."
While the victory came as a big relief for Blaine, who was under fire over having ended a game earlier with only 53 yards, the worst figure ever achieved by a player in the franchise, Colts’ players have been ruing the missed opportunity.
The coach himself admits the loss to be a nightmare for him but as a matter of reality there is nothing he can do about it except for trying to focus on the game next weekend.
He said:
"All night long, all night long in the head. You watch it on tape. That's every coach that that happens to. It's like a nightmare."
Pagano is expected to relay the same spirited message on Wednesday when the team reunites for the midweek training to keep the confidence level of the players high. The coach must be pleased that first-year quarterback Andrew Luck has handled the situation
quite maturely and sensibly.
After all, it was a good effort from a team that has been completely transformed at all positions and still more or less is in the phase of rebuilding. Although another win could have helped to moral boosting of the unit, the Colts still have many opportunities
left ahead and given they have shown some promise they can avail many of them.
