Indianapolis Colts further reshuffles their side with two new signees, waiving one – NFL News
After firing of their defensive co-ordinator and switching of quarterback earlier, the Indianapolis Colts have announced more abrupt developments in their side on Wednesday, all apparently in a bid to save them from further humiliation
after having gone down to 0-11 this year first time in any football season since 1986.
As per their latest announcement, the Colts said that they have signed a new linebacker Scott Lutrus. He has been placed on their active roster and will play for them in remaining games of current season National Football League
(NFL), the premier American football league.
Further added to their line-up is quarterback Jarrett Brown. He however has not been put on their active roster. He has joined their practice squad for workout this week.
Meanwhile, the Colts said that they have placed their defensive back Stevie Brown on injured reserve (IR) list. He had suffered a concussion in their game against Carolina Panthers last Sunday. He was helped to locker room and
did not return for rest of the game.
They also announced to have released their tight end Mike McNeill.
Their new signee Lutrus had signed the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted rookie in July this year. He however was released by them after two months in September. He had lately joined St. Louis Rams' practice squad, but has not
played any game for them.
Colts' other new signee Jarrett Brown had originally signed the San Francisco 49ers in 2010. He however after joining their practice squad for a brief period of time, had been signed by the Cleveland Browns. The Browns too cut
him in their training camp.
The latest changes in the Colts were announced following a number of measures reported to have been taken by Colts coach Jim Caldwell earlier on Tuesday. This included firing of their defensive co-ordinator Larry Coyer and switching
of Curtis Painter from quarterback position.
Coyer has been replaced by their linebackers coach Mike Murphy, while Curtis’ position is taken by Dan Orlovsky.
The Colts are the only winless team in current NFL season. They have played total 11 games losing all of them.
