Indianapolis Colts lose Jacob Tamme, Ryan Diem off free agency, Donnie Avery gets new deal-NFL News
The Indianapolis Colts, who lost the veteran quarterback, Peyton Manning, and almost all their managers, coaches and some players before that, are yet to settle down with their rash cleansing of the team, as of the recent the team has lost a number of players
off the free agency while managing to retain one of them.
Wide receiver, Donnie Avery, has been confirmed to be the player brought back on the active roster off the free agency by Colts.
His re-signing was confirmed by the management on Friday 23, 2012. The terms of the fresh deal including its value and tenure are not disclosed by either of the stakeholders.
Prior to that, Colts lost centre, Jeff Saturday, who has now joined the Green Bay Packers following Colts’ denial to give him a new deal.
None of the people privy to the signing has disclosed the tenure, value and other terms of Saturday’s deal. However, he turns out to be the latest notable player that Indianapolis Colts have let move to another team.
Jeff had been on the starting position for Colts since 2000 and had a great following of the local fans. His move was seen certain after Colts declined him the new deal and a couple of days after the refusal, they signed another receiver, Samson Satele,
to the squad.
In addition, Colts’ former tight end, Jacob Tamme, has joined the Denver Broncos in almost similar circumstances. Nothing has come out about his deal terms.
Moves of these players come a week after the management released half a dozen players in one go. They all were made to part ways with Colts next day the team let the veteran, Peyton Manning, become an unrestricted free agent.
The unceremonious departure of Manning, the only four-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the league, came after 14 years of his association with the team.
Meanwhile, Colts’ offensive lineman, Ryan Diem, has announced retirement while the team has traded for quarterback, Drew Stanton.
So altogether, the Indianapolis Colts are set to come out into the next NFL season with completely new faces at almost all positions in the squad, coaching department and front office.
Colts’ owner, Jim Irsay, has not spared a single official carrying over the legacy of their former quarterback, making redundant vice chairman, general manager, head coach and assistant staff.
