Indianapolis Colts’ offensive coach Bruce Arians backs return of QB Peyton Manning – NFL News
Indianapolis Colts’ offensive coach, Bruce Arians, has spoken of the significance of their quarterback, Peyton Manning, in their team and, at the same time, shown his willingness of putting their prospective rookie QB on the field, saying that they have
an ability to learn quickly by taking snaps on Sundays.
Arians, who has recently come out of his controversial retirement from the Pittsburgh Steelers, to join Colts, said that he had done same with Manning when he had joined them as a draft rookie QB in 1998.
The young QB had faced a number of problems during his first year at the team; later years showed how well he had capitalized on the strength he achieved while working through that difficulties to have an impressive run of his career, he added.
Colts new offensive coach, who has been friends with Peyton Manning, told reporters on Wednesday, February 01, 2012 that he hoped that the QB will return to Colts in the future to play under new setup.
"It's kind of like deja vu. It's scary," Arians said. "There is a new general manager and a new coach. Hopefully Peyton can come back and get ready to go. But, there will be a new quarterback and a new beginning. It's exciting."
He added:
"We've talked a bunch of times because we've been good friends," Arians said. "We texted back and forth and his whole family is in town for the Super Bowl. We couldn't get together, but we'll get together as soon as I get back on Monday."
Bruce remarks about Manning’s possible future at Colts coincide with a statement from his employer, Jim Irsay, who in a separate statement said that he planned to meet the quarterback in a week time to discuss and determine their future course.
He has also hinted at the possibility of negotiating a delay in the deadline of $28 million bonus due to be paid to the player by March 08, 2012. If the deadline is missed, the QB will go free agency.
The offensive coach has now hoped that the quarterback will be back to Colts to play football with them for more seasons to come.
His hopes are line with wishes of Manning’s family members, fans and the Indianapolis football community as a whole, who want to see him playing for Colts once again.
Peyton has missed the entire 2011 National Football League (NFL) regular season after having a surgery for his neck injury in September 2011.
With nothing confirmed about his chances of recovery to his full strength and ability to play football again, he has become a focal point of the controversy around his possibility of rejoining his team, given the fact that his all managers and coaches have
been forced out of the side by their employer.
