Indianapolis Colts seek boost to offensive line for Houston Texans’ challenge – NFL News
The Indianapolis Colts are gearing up for the decisive challenge versus the Houston Texans this Sunday and coach Bruce Arians intends to seek a boost on the offensive line to share the load poor rookie quarterback Andrew Luck has been shouldering alone so
far.
It is fortunate for the Colts that the offence leader has remained hundred percent healthy and fit, except for a few scratches here and there, and Arians realises that they need to beef up security around him, although he has not divulged how they are going
to achieve that.
The Texans game is important for both sides, as it is a playoff berth decider for the Colts and the Texans need win to claim the American Football Conference (AFC) South title, second time in a row.
A particular position to note that is rushing for the Colts. They stand at 22nd position out of 32 teams in the league and this has left extra burden for the quarterback. Although the coach does not have an immediate answer to rushing woes of
the team, he understands the pressure their QB has been through.
Another worry for the Colts is that they have struggled throughout the game until last quarter. Their worries of first half in many games are hard for the coach to understand and solve.
He said:
"Yeah, we struggled in the first half with a couple of matchups. Our coaches did a good job of finding some runs that we liked at halftime and Vick did a good job of picking and coming out of there."
The coach hopes that rookie running back Vick Ballard who leads the team with 562 yards will provide a solution in the game.
He said:
"He's powerful. He's a poor man's Edge (Edgerrin James). He's bowlegged like Edge and he's about the same size and tough to bring down. He's quick, he's elusive, doesn't have the great speed but he can make the first guy miss and he's going to make a lot
of yards because he makes people miss. He's got a great future."
The Texans have already beaten the Colts in previous game and will come on the field with a clear advantage, but an important point here to consider is that they have miserably lost to the New England Patriots recently.
