Indianapolis Colts seen on rebound of poor 2011 season – NFL News
The Indianapolis Colts are seen on the rebound of their 2011 National Football League (NFL) miserable year when they could manage only a pair of wins in the entire 16-game regular season.
A number of commentators agree that owner Jim Irsay seems to have done quite well as far as the team’s needs at all positions are concerned; not just players’ strength but the front office and coaching department requirements as well.
Certainly, the future is going to bear witness to Jim’s changes, if they are credible ones, so far the squad looks very much balanced at all sides. The owner is very optimistic, and most importantly very ambitious to see his team bouncing
back strongly this season.
One issue remains very much there: the team will still be without Peyton Manning, who has led them from the front to the success of over a decade. His absence last season proved to be fatal for the team, exposing the poor quality of talent
at all spots.
Colts are without Peyton this year again. Yet there is a big change this year, which the team missed last season. It is rookie quarterback, Andrew Luck – the top performer in the college league.
The QB is being weighed to be a player of an equally rich talent and with potential to perform well. It will be down to his real game form to prove he is worthy to replace one of the most recognized QBs (Peyton) in the league.
Almost all stakeholders are optimistic about the player’s performance. They include the owner, the player himself and the game analysts.
One of the key issues in front of the rookie and team as well is that at certain positions the quality of the talent is the same as last year. If those players show up with the same level of form, it will be disastrous for the team, and
a great setback to Luck’s pro career prospects.
Some commentators have suggested the QB will have to go the extra mile in his performance to compensate for the poor form of some players, as the stakes apparently are higher for him than anyone else.
Nevertheless, Colts have an opportunity to stage a turnaround and progress through to the phases beyond the regular season.
