Darren Evans, who has been cut by the Colts from active roster, had played two games for them. He was on their active roster and practice squad throughout current NFL season.

However, they are facing a difficulty to make a choice because their key starter Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. Manning still hopes he will be back with the Colts before end of the season. He has set this ambitious hope despite
that he knows that his neck injury is season and even career threatening.
His younger Eli Manning claimed that Peyton had been much focused on his recovery and expressed an optimism that his injury will allow him to return before end of the current season.
Even if they sign Andrew Luck and Peyton returns, they will have an option to trade Luck with any of NFL teams.
