Indianapolis Colts sign free agent WR Kris Adams -NFL News
Indianapolis Colts said to have consolidated their receivers’ position by adding a free agent receiver to the roster.
Kris Adams is the player Colts have agreed terms with and to accommodate his arrival they released the undrafted outside linebacker, Kevin Eagan.
Despite being into second year in the National Football League (NFL), Adams hardly has any real experience of the pro game environment.
He is yet to make the regular squad of any team as most of his pro stints so far have remained limited to participation in the practice squads of a number of teams.
After coming out of the UTEP alum during the 2011 NFL draft, he was on the practice squad of Chicago Bears before moving to St. Louis Rams to play in the same situation.
He was then signed by the Minnesota Vikings to their practice squad but was given a proper contract on December 14. He was re-signed under fresh terms by the team in January 2012 before finally being released last month.
Colts turned out to be his next destination, as the management as part of the team’s rebuilding efforts felt a need of another receiver.
It is yet to be confirmed if the player is lucky this time around and becomes a part of their regular squad next season.
The team has already added a couple of receivers to the squad to ensure that the new quarterback, Andrew Luck, faces no difficulties at the receiving end of his throws.
Colts are coming out into the 2012 NFL season with a completely overhauled setup and team. They are with new GM, new head coach and new QB.
While the future will bear witness to the credibility of some of the harsh changes the team owner, Jim Irsay, has introduced, fans have higher expectations from players like Luck.
Luck closed the college league chapter while being on the top and he will need to be equally impressive in his first pro stint and also in the future to make sure that Indianapolis Colts is back to winning ways.
