Indianapolis Colts turn to local firm for help in tickets sale first time-NFL News
The Indianapolis Colts for the first time in their franchise history face a decline in their tickets sale, which is seen due to a holdout policy on part of the fans because of multiple reasons.
It is also for the first time that the team has turned to a local firm to seek help in the ticket peddling.
Colts has hired interns to convince the fans, who are in wait-and-see positions at the moment, to get renewed their season tickets.
Some commentators believe that the decline in the sale is because of the protesting attitude the local team fans are showing due to different reasons.
One of them is the departure of their former star, Peyton Manning. Some of Colts’ fans were not happy over the owner, Jim Irsay’s choice of letting Manning go.
Also, the team has parted ways with all those who were a part of Manning era, including the vice chairman, Bill Polian and the head coach, Jim Caldwell.
Furthermore, the team is coming out of one of the miserable seasons after the record of 2-14 in the 2011 National Football League (NFL) season.
So, fans are rather disappointed and are taking their time to commit their future loyalties to the team.
The reasons could be true as even the addition of the top draft pick of this year, QB, Andrew Luck, has not been able to move them out of the lacklustre attitude.
While the team has denied seeing the decline as a blackout of the team in the home field, the decrease in the tickets sale for the first time in a decade itself speaks of the problem.
Now the hired interns are expected to approach everyone sitting on the fence individually and make them give a second thought to their decision.
Otherwise, the team can hope that Luck turns out to be a player of Manning’s calibre, and his form and performance should automatically be able to force out the fans onto the field.
So far, the decline is no way a healthy sign for the team, which is already struggling to come into the next season with full strength and stage a turnaround from the last year’s performance.
