Question:

Indianapolis Grand Prix?

They just released a list of GPs next year and Indy isn't on the list! This is terrible! Anyone have anymore information on this subject? I'd love to see the race in the streets of Vegas or the like and I would travel half way across the country to go.

  1. Last rumour I heard was that they were considering Phoenix

  2. Hopefully by 2010 Indianapolis will be back, it's nice to have F1 race in the USA, even not in Indiana, like in CA, FL, or NV.

I think it is better if they remove 1 circuit in Europe like Hungary or Catalunya (but retain Valencia to represent Spain and use Catalunya for testing only), and add 1 in north America (USA).

  3. It's only a provisional list. I hope there will be another US GP, just not at Indy.

I really hope that that is not the final list.

Gran Premio GP de Abu Dhabi??

    They'd better stick to Brazil.

  4. Indianapolis is hoping to bring it back.

  5. Trust me no one is more ticked off then me.  I sat there 3 years ago and watched that fiasco with tires and left ready to give up on the BIA.   I'd like an American stop to be at Laguna Seca or St. Petersburg Florida.

  6. Let us all hope for US F1 fans that it goes to a circuit worthy of the race. Indy is a joke circuit for F1...it's even more mickey-mouse than the Le Mans "Bugatti" circuit which originally got that nickname...some temporary track in Las Vegas wouldn't be an improvement. The only reason to go to Indy is MONEY, trading on the Indy name. There is no other sane reason to hold a GP on that track.

Get your best road courses which are near(ish) to civilisation up to F1 standard (Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen) and you can have 2 GPs a year...just no more street-circuits (PLEASE) - unless we are going back to Long Beach while we wait for the road courses to be ready.

  7. If there is going to be another F1 event here, it needs to be centrally located and close to a wide variety of transportation facilities. I'd like to see anew track with all the bells and whistles with a lot of elevation changes. That's the big draw-back to Indy. How about St Louis, Kansas City, or even Denver.

  8. is 1 of the few circuits that i liked that was onthe calendar last year

  9. You should forget about Vegas.

At the moment there doesn't seem to be enough interest in F1 in the states so Indy is your best bet for the time being.

F1 will probably go back to Indianapolis, when that happens is a question of logistics and hard bargaining.

  10. well - after what happened a few years ago when only the bridgestone guys raced.. indy's contract was not renewed..

  11. I can't see US holding another GP for a while. I think Ecclestone has cut his ties and his loses with the US.
