Indians have failed to plan and strategise: http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Akram-c96292 – Cricket News Update
Former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 skipper, Wasim Akram, has blamed the poor performances of the Indian team in the ongoing Commonwealth Bank series on the lack of planning and foresight.
“The Indians have failed to plan and strategise. It's too late on this tour but they should certainly look ahead now,” Akram said.
The Indian team is currently at the bottom of the points table in the series, having won just 2 out of their 7 matches.
Blaming the top-order batsmen for their inability to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Sehwag-c2739 were making their way back to the pavilion so early in their innings.
“The Indian batsmen have made a mockery of themselves. The top-order is not willing to stay at the crease. Sehwag and Tendulkar have been getting out in the first few overs. How can you chase a target like this?” Akram asked.
Apart from making a highest 48, Tendulkar has managed scores of 2, 3, and most recently, 14, while his opening partner’s contributions are even more disappointing as his scores of 10, 20, 0 and 5 suggest. Gatuam Gambhir is the only one out of the top three
to have managed two half-centuries (92, 91).
The top-order batsmen were further criticized by Dhoni for their lack of application, following the team’s last defeat against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, where they were reduced to 5-89 after just 20 overs.
In addition to the batters, Akram also said Dhoni was making “a lame excuse” when he complained about the fact the team had not been able to win most of their tosses.
While http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 has lost 6 out of 8 tosses this series, they won the toss in the first match of the series against the hosts, where they chose to field. However, the team hardly made an impact - losing the game by 65 runs.
Despite the string of losses, the Men in Blue managed to win the all important toss in today’s clash against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 at the Bellerive Oval, Hobart – opting to field first as they look to earn a bonus point. Whether it leads the under fire World Cup winners
to a victory, it remains to be seen.
