how can i get train reservation done through net.suppose i want to take ticket for train from kanpur to Delhi?

u can PLAN YOUR JOURNEY and BOOK TICKETS online.. there are 2 options - iTicket and eTicket.. the iTicket is a NORMAL printed ticket that you'll receive through courier. the eTicket is a PRINTOUT that you have to carry along with a ID PROOF. remember you can pay using (1) Credit Card or (2) INTERNET BANKING ACCOUNT (NOT a debit card)...

There is a web site " www.irctc.com" you can see train schedules, book tickets, provided you get registered once.

You can make your payments by Credit/ Debit cards as well, and any cancellations, you get the refund into your credit card account directly
