India’s Aditya Mehta looking for tremendous run in new snooker season – Snooker Update
One of the emerging snooker talents from India, former Asian Snooker Championship winner, Aditya Mehta performed convincingly in the previous snooker season and made some noticeable performances during the proceedings.
However, despite his hard tries, he was unable to win any major or minor ranking snooker tournaments. Still, the performance he showed in the last season did give him a lot of confidence which helped him to make his way to the pro circuit.
He was quite determined to starting his new snooker season campaign so he put all of his efforts in his cue stick and participated in qualifying session of the 2012 Wuxi Classic snooker tournament.
The Indian potter made his way into the fourth round after putting an end to the runs of Sam Baird, James Wattana and Jimmy White. He played sensibly against his fifth round opponent; England’s Jamie Cope but could not save himself from defeat.
The Sub-Content potter tried his luck in the 2012 Australian Goldfields Open but could not reach the third round and crashed out of the clash at the hands of Barry Pinches by the score line of 5-4.
He showed his noticeable performance in the 2012 Six-Red World Championship and hit the initial stages of the clash after putting up an excellent display in the qualifiers. The Indian is still determined to play at his best and make an appearance.
While speaking to World Snooker, Mehta said, “Mark Williams is still a top four player, but I know that if I play well I will give him a good game, and I'm going into the match to win. Beating players like Jimmy White and James Wattana has given me a boost,
and also gives me motivation to work harder and keep improving.”
He added, “In past seasons I have started slowly and that makes it very tough to catch up. So it's great to get a few wins under my belt early on this time.”
The Indian is hoping for a good run in the next tournaments. He will be looking forward to giving his best in the 2012 Shanghai Masters snooker events which will run in September.
