India’s back-up shuttlers will shine in the Asian Badminton Championships
India’s back-up shuttlers will participate in the upcoming Asian Badminton Championships 2011, in China starting from 19 April. This decision has been taken by the Badminton Association of India by keeping in view that all top shuttlers of the country are
busy in training for the Indian Open Super Series 2011, which will kick off from 26 April. The top shuttlers of India including, Saina Nehwal in the Women’s category and Chetan Anand, P Kashyap and Arvind Bhat will not participate in the Asian Championships.
The World Number three, Saina is working hard in training sessions to perform well in the upcoming major home event where all top seeds of the world will compete. She will have a great chance to win the event as the Chinese shuttlers will not participate
in this event. India’s national champion, Chetan is facing an injury at the moment and will not be able to participate in the event in China.
Kashyap and Arvind are also working hard in training to perform well in the Super Series event. Their major focus is on the home event and they want to get maximum benefit from this tournament which will improve their world ranking and their chances to participate
in the World Championships will become stronger. Apart from these top shuttlers, India has many talented young players who will gain experience by playing against the top players of China, Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia.
