Get Off Your High Horse!! Sure the bands I listen too: Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Cut Copy, would definitely be classed as "scenester" by you, but I am aware of this and care very little. People I know who listen to even less "non-trendy" bands (The Killers/Red Hot Chillie Peppers etc) aren't bothered. We're just proud to be immersed in music we love. Placing so much importance on this is hardly a cool thing to do, it's a clear case of inverted snobbery.

I don't listen to such bands as you listed and I don't have that haircut, and I'm not emo. But even if someone DID do all those things, it wouldn't mean he's emo. If I told you the bands I liked, you might think I'm a goth or punk or something like that but I'm not what you'd expect...
