Hello,

I am an IT Manager for a small business with only about 20 employees. I am considering upgrading their file/print server, however, should I go with the new blade and SAN solutions. The company only has a bout 1/2 of a TB of data right now. Or should I keep it keep and stick with a standard poweredge server or two?

Thank You,

Adam

  1. You could also buy the IBM blade center or HP solution with the integrated Cisco SAN switches, which would probably fit you pretty well. Any more may be overkill unless you had some large growth projections or future remote replication needs. .

  2. I would recommend a higher-end PowerEdge server with Microsoft Small Business Server. Great product and by far the best value out there.

Blade servers are great for hosting websites, but for small business stick to a server geared towards your goals.

I'm only recommending what has worked fine for me in the past
