Individual vs. the Majority?

Can anyone list some good examples in which the individual holds more impact than the majority? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks! =D

Any armed service or corporate entity would be a good example.Consider that it has never been the majority that decided to charge entrenched positions with potential for 70%casualty rates, nor has the majority had a say in the everyday operations of a corporation.

As well,at your own school it is not the majority of teachers that decide the curriculum but rather the Dean or Principal .
