Individual wants to raise $ donate aeds to local fire dept where to start?

A lot of fire departments around where I live have bake sales, yard sales, dinners, car washes and things like that to gain money. They also solicit funds by placing money jars around businesses.  I'm sure the fire dept. would be more than happy to let you use their fire house for these things. As for larger events karoke, talent shows, haunted houses for Halloween,  can all potentially generate large funds.
