Question:

Individual won't stay off my group?

I have a yahoogroup. I banned a troublesome member from it in February '07.

Since then, he has created other yahoo ID's and used alias after alias to rejoin the group. Sits dormant, lurking the group, then does something stupid to bring attention to himself, and I throw him off again.

This has happened twice, I have banned at least 7 aliases I believed were his phony Yahoo I.D.'s All ID's were created on Yahoo very close to or the same as the join date.

As a group owner, I can ban a yahoo ID, but I would really like to ban his IP address, but yahoo is not set up that way.

Any other options?

And yes, this person really needs a life.

  1. restrict membership to needing approval, and consider not allowing any to join who have a newly created profile. moderate all new members so if this person sneaks ina gain, no offensive posts make it to your group.

yahoo doesn't ban IP's. they can be spoofed and some peoples IP's refresh, and is ever changing.

  2. sounds like you have a stalker.  i would love to help you but i have no idea how you would do that.  sorry.  if you find out let me know.
