  1. individualism - promoting individuality in society.  people choose their friends, communities dont know each other that well, media is diverse and unregulated by the media, cultural beliefs emphasize individualism, indpendence, and self expression (America, "westernized" nations)

collectivism - duty and obligation to family are valued highly,   adults exercise control who their kids interact with (friendship choices), community members know eachother, government and society stress obedience and conformity (China).

these are just a few examples of each.

  4. England would be a good example of a country that is based on individualism! nobody cares about anybody!every man for themselves.. read on the articles that tells of  off- duty police officers who refused to save a drowning child because they were of work! talk about inhumanity!.. also about anti social behavior among youth: people being attacked, beating, knifed whiles people stand and look, having no ability or even willingness to help because of the fear of being attacked self.. there is definitely no sense of unity, or collectivess amongst the citizens of England: fear and selfishness have gotten to them.
