  1. Wow! This is a tough one.  I tend to favor individualist mentality.  Individualists promote the exercise of ones goals and desires, while opposing most external interference with ones choices, whether by society, the state, or any other group or institution. I admire that there is an opposition to tradition or any other form of external moral standard being used to limit an individual's choice of actions.  However, collectivism holds

the view that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts/pieces. Specifically, a society as a whole can be seen as having more meaning or value than the separate individuals that make up that society.  I can see the value in this as well and believe that in part it is also true.  I would lean more toward individualist mentality not forsaking the aspect that at times, under unique situations that a  collectivist mentality should be considered important

  2. I personally say Individualist.

But everyone else will tell you Collectivist.

    But seriously, grammar?

And it depends on the situation.

    I'm a left-libertarian.

    So I have both.

  3. Weak people choose the collectivist (or social) mentality, while the strong ones prefer the individualistic (or egotistical) approach because you don't have to share your gains with others. They both have their advantages, depending on circumstances. Overall, I think I'm more of a collectivist because I have too much empathy for others. But I can be a prick too (i.e. individualist) when I'm angry.

  4. The collective is always right. Just look at Yahoo Answers!
